Over the past 50 years, oral history has developed into a significant medium for individuals to contribute to the documentation of their lived experiences. By valuing the experiences of socially excluded groups, it produces a “history from below,” gives participants greater agency, and incorporates a wider range of historical viewpoints.
The Centre for Life Writing and Oral History, launched in March 2020, explores the various methods that people utilise to share their life stories.
